The pretty blonde hair, the neat little dress, what a great picture. What grade is this? I think I recognize some of the others in this picture - maybe???
First Grade with Miss Wenzel. She married a farmer that next summer. How did you get this picture? It was actually on the PHS58 blog.....You are very clever, Ann Tanner! I sure spent a lot of time in the corner and out in the hall that year. I already knew how to read and I loved my new social world. Trouble!!!!
My first grade picture is missing, as far as I know it was in a trunk of personal things that was stolen at BYU. Her name pronounced Miss Va-ling-ga, was a snazzy young blonde, ( a one year teacher) of whom I was very impressed with, I spent no time in the hall or in the corner. Crushes on your teachers tend to keep you out of trouble I guess, or I was just a very well behaved child.

ReplyDeleteSee, Ann, Judy had curls, and we had pigtails. How cute is this picture! Everybody, find your first grade picture - it would be fun to see.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wasn't so smart! I thought it was Ann who went looking and found this picture only to find out it was Dwight....give credit where it is due!

ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember Miss Valinga. Actually, I remember how Steve loved first grade. Now I know the rest of that story.
