Love this picture and the hat, Steve. Memories - aren't they wonderful? Was there a rhinestone in there?
Now that is what I call a real hat!
Steve is a tall dude. In a letter Mother wrote to me, she said, "I didn't realize how tall Steve is until I saw him walk across the stage tonight."And to be a cowboy to boot!
LOL! Dad, I remember that hat! Shannon and Mark and I used to dress up and play with it when you weren't looking...it was one of our favorite games! You look a lot like Grandpa in this picture!
P.S. Are those beans growing in those straight rows? They don't look like sugar beets to me.
Since there is no place to leave a comment for the heading picture, I am making it here. Look at those straight rows! Anyone who can do that can take pride in the accomplishment. Straight rows make such a good analogy for many values. I like it!
Another comment on the picture at the top. When I married Ron, I learned that you are supposed to use two stakes and a string so that your rows in the garden would be straight. Can you imagine? Dad said that the deal was to keep your eyes on something - a fence post or a bush, etc. at the end of the row, and head toward it. He and John Deere made many a row - and I think that Dwight, in his time, did, too. I like Judy's reference to the analogy it has to do with life. Good life lesson - keep your eyes on the goal, and you'll not deviate.
