The feather is evidence that they are trying. Don't give up yet. You will soon have more eggs than you can use.

Eternal optimist, for sure. I'm positive that they need laying mash. ;-)

The word on the street is that they will start laying eggs when they are ready to lay eggs, even when they are being fed all the right stuff. With the tomatoes and zucchini just about all picked we are ready to turn them loose in the garden so we will see how the bug patrol does in that part of the yard. How is that for independence.
