And Merry Christmas to you, too. This is a very Christmassy cutout - and the lighting isn't too bad, either. Thanks for sharing. (Actually, this could be your Christmas card - oh, it is?)

The top of the blog.... what a Christmas present, one of the best of all times. Ann even looks innocent.
The cutout is from an old DELTAGRAM from the 40's. I always loved the pattern since I was old enough to thumb through the magazines. I finally made a couple of them a few years ago. The other pattern found in the magazines was one of Bethlehem. Ann and I pirated a large sheet of dark blue crep paper, some gold stars from Mom's desk and with some black construction paper created our own Bethlehem Christmas scene. I was the fortunate one as it hung over the head of my bed with thumb tacks that propbably required 20 new holes to get it just right.

Merry Christmas. I remember this pattern, but can't remember the pirating expedition. That was probably your idea. Your photo turned out beautifully, and the cutout is one that would make such a perfect addition to any home.
I'm sure our finished project was stunning, as long as I didn't do anything with a camel. I "won" an art project in the 4th grade with a camel I had drawn (with 3 humps, just in case).
The photo at the top of the blog brings back such sweet memories. Note both Steve and I are holding onto our feet - do you suppose they were cold?

What a sweet picture to welcome in Christmas morning. And, Steve, I, also, loved the cutout. And the story behind it is neat. It's interesting that thngs that impressed us when young stay with us. In the past couple of years I completed two quilts that I had the patterns for in the late 50's and had always wanted to do.
Merry Christmas, all.

Ann, as I remember we were not of school age yet and we eventually dumped the idea of a camel but we did do wise men and a manger?

What innocent Christmas cherubs. Remember saving the tinsel very carefully for the next year? It was always placed just so. Thanks again to Dwight for his photographing important times in our lives.

I have been in seclusion for a couple of days and look at how much Blog there is to catch up on! Believe it or not, I remember Steve and Ann's "nativity". It worked just fine. They never lacked in the creativity department.

P.S. Steve, this is a great cutout design. How about marketing this one?

I second Judy's suggestion about marketing this cutout. Please put me on your mailing list with preferred customer status.
