POINTS OF INTEREST

We all remember these two points of interest when we were growing up.  First the stories of the bridge that Grandpa worked on in Yellowstone, then the narrow road of the canyon that took us up the North Fork.  We also probably remember how much Father did not like the canyon drive.

Steve, these are great pictures. Where did you find them? I didn't know that Dad didn't like to drive the old canyon road. I do remember the only time we drove over the Beartooth highway, and Mother told him to watch the road and she would look at the scenery. Nervous times.

Fouond the post cards in an antique store. Through the years we have collected a few cool things related to the park.
I remember Mom telling Dad that same thing on about every trip we took.

I HATED the drive through the canyon on the old road. Remember how we would go around a corner, then honk to see if anyone was coming around the next corner? I had nightmares about being pushed off the road and NEVER being seen again. However I did love it when Dad would honk going through the tunnels.
On a more pleasant note, the post cards are a great depiction of what used to be.

When they built the new tunnels we went up and got loads of granite to make the planters at the front of the house, classy.

I was always too car sick to care about the road. But I do remember the horn honking in the tunnels and thought that was wonderful. Steve, the art work on these postcards is what? 1950? or before. Very nice to see.
