Good eye, Dwight. I never connected this dress to Louise's first day of school dress, but I think you must be correct. I think the fabric shrunk a little by the time I wore it. Do you think that Elizabeth had her turn with it in between? Your photo shop work is inspiring! See, you have plenty of work yet to do!
I loved that dress, and I felt especially elegant when I wore that litle coat over it. I want to point out that this was not taken on the first day of school. Mother took me into town on the first day. I can actually remember when the picture was taken. I was waiting for the bus to come.
A more apt title for this picture: Judy in the sugar beets by the back porch strangling a cat with her hair chopped short wearing a short blue polka dot dress handed down through Louise and Liz. And didn't I love it when the details came to light after getting rid of the dark in the photo. How much is this photo worth?

Do you remember the pictures I posted of the Rexburg trip? I am wearing the polka dotted dress in those pictures.
