This occasion in Penrose when my little family was there, at the same time as Dwight and Velna and their children. There were some choice pictures that came from this time. You have to excuse my hairdo + cat-eye glasses, but remember, it was the mid-60's.
We must have gone to church.

Keep them coming sis, I still enjoy them.
These are my early years in Washington, but life went on at Penrose. I believe the dress Mother is wearing one of the few she ever bought and it was for Ann's wedding. Sunday was the best day for taking pictures, best clothes, best smiles.
Judy is correct about the dress. Mother looked so pretty in it. I think Dwight was quite instrumental in convincing her to buy it. There is something else in that photo, besides four very neat people, that is really special. See the watch Mother is wearing? I believe Dad gave that to her just before I graduated from high school, but Steve may remember that better than I do. However, that is the watch I am wearing. Every time I go in to get a new battery, the jeweler looks at the watch and asks me if I am aware of how old it is. Duh! Mother still helps me get places on time - or at least close to it!
As an aside about this picture, when I scanned it, it was all pixels. I've learned that if I scotch tape it to the white board, take a picture of it with my camera, and upload it, it really improves the picture. Victory! I did this with Dad and Jack's picture, too.
There was a period in the late 60's to 70's that photos were printed on pebbled paper. They look terrible when scanned. I'm going to try Elizabeth's method. Thank you!!!
