Happy Birthday Elizabeth. What do we know about you? Melodious laugh. World class fabric stash. Stubborn. Artist, quilter extraordinaire. Beet hoeing companion. Original owner of a doll buggy. Pre-school companion when Louise abandoned us. Nose in a book. Reading under the covers. Reading when time for dishes. Reading when supposed to do something else. Reading all the books in the Powell library. Could not understand ditto marks. Grammar whiz. Loyal sibling. Hand on the pitchfork. Illegally. Flowers. Gullible. (Louise and I did not go to Paris to see Pierre.) Keeps track of us all. Smart. Bossy? I can't believe I said that. Maybe I meant "Bussy", our childhood nickname for her. Beautiful. Kind. Friend. Never gave up during the tough times. Our day is always brighter when the telephone from Preston Idaho rings. So, dear sister, we all wish you a bright and happy day and we wish we were all there to share it with you. Instead, we send our love. Dwight, Louise, Judy, Ann, and Steve.

I so wish I knew how to post this all over Facebook! Elizabeth could also hide her book under the bed and turn out the light faster than greased lightening when Mother came to check on us. She also knew a wealth of interesting songs that she learned from her Laramie days that were a great source of entertainment. Love you Elizabeth and Happy 80th Birthday to you!!!!!
How can I keep the tears from coming when I read this - My brothers and sisters have truly been my support team throughout my life. How blessed am I. Dwight, I love this! Ken also gave me the wonderful book today that he made up of mostly pictures from you. It is beautiful, too. I feel truly feted on this momentous 80th birthday. Thank you ever so much!
Dwight said it all - this post is perfect. Happy birthday, sister dear. I'm glad to hear the sunshine found Preston just for your day.
How can I hit "like" for Ann's comment?
I forgot Liz's expertise as an expert cow herder
We become expert at something when we consistently work at it. I loved being the cow herder most days. Took me away from dishes in the morning (sorry, Louise), and gave me extra goodies to take with me on the long trek to bring them home. d
