Isn't he cute? Typical little boy, with a tear in the knee of his pants, and Mother's haircut. Notice the chicken perched majestically in the background. Remember the summer days when Mother allowed them to run free (free range chickens), and Dad would complain because the egg yolks were such a bright orange from the hens eating so much green, growing things, as well as the grasshoppers, bugs, etc. Ah, those were the days.
I love this picture, I don't remember seeing it before.
The sled was a magical possession, whether it was winter or summer. It was so much fun to take it up on the cellar and sled down the "hill". The challenge was to see if we could make it across what was left of the small irrigation furrow that was on the east side of the dirt road going to the milk barn.
We can't thank Dwight enough for recording family images that would other wise be lost in some time warp.
