Mother's Day

Because one of our spring projects has provided much merriment for brothers and sisters, I feel justified in posting this on Penrose Mornings.  The top photo was taken a month ago, the bottom photo was taken this morning.  Note the handles just below the "door".  They are attached to a pull out tray and the floor inside  the coop is made of a small plastic grid.  When it comes time to clean the coop, we pull the tray.  How is that for modern backyard farming?  Grandkids are coming on the 31st - you are welcome to join in!

Oh my gosh, you just snuck this in from the time I started out here. What a shock!

I hated to mess up the rhythm you have going with the recovered photos, but hoped you wouldn't mind. I can't believe what you are doing with the old, not very good photos.

They still stink.

You mean, the chickens?

So the grandkids are coming at the end of the month - how about the chicks? Paul, a great job, and very inventive. Kudos to the builder. (Remember how one family that rode on the bus had children whose hair stunk like chicken feathers.)

Chicks and grandkids. No chicken feathers in pillows, although that was what we slept on.

Dear Ann, if you order from Liz's 1934 wards catalogue, you can get 25 chicks for $1.90.

With this investment, you'll want to make getting baby chicks an annual affair. Very nice!
