Bohemian Embroidery

This lovely piece of embroidery has been around for a long time. Like so many other family memorbilia, it had residence in the big cedar chest. The handwork was done by Grandma Louise as stated in the letter from Aunt Rose (posted above). It is beautiful and it is without a single loose thread.

What beautiful handwork. I think it is so interesting how all four of us girls have loved doing handwork of some kind. Mother taught us to love it and how to do it, and somehow it has tied us to both sides of our family. Steve's love for woodworking (fine handwork), Dwight's love for writing (fine handwork - close enough!) - it just all goes together.
