Mother, Judy, and Unknown

My surmise is that this was taken when we went to Rexburg to a Wasden family reunion. Don't know who the unidentified lady is who Mother is talking with. Must have been the summer of 1941? I remember that we went to Rexburg in the back of the Ford beet truck, and that we stayed in a motel, with us kids sleeping crosswise on one bed. Elna and our House cousins were there, too. I have a couple of more pictures of this.

I don't think I have ever seen a picture of Judy at this age. What a cutie! And the way Mother looked is so neat. Bib overalls during the week, dresses in public. She was the best.

Look at the droopy drawers and no plastic pants, much less disposable diapers. See how slim Mother was! Hanging on to her one way or another was life long for us all.

On the enlargement of the photo, I noticed my shoes. Where did those shoes come from? They are pretty fancy especially for a toddler. That must have been a special treat.
