Those long rows are a familiar sight. Notice Grandma Wasden in the sunbonnet on the far right, and that both women are wearing dresses. Not very practical for working in the fields. Grandma made us all sunbonnets, and Mother insisted that we either wear sunbonnets or straw hats when we worked outside. Sunbonnets seemed to be an instrument of torture. They held the sun off your face, but the hot air collected inside the arc formed by the brim.
