More Sugar Beet History

So, do you suppose this meant survival for another year?

A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into that!

I just think about the limited means Dad had to get those sugar beets planted, nursed through the season, out of the ground and up to Garland, etc. It probably took everyone who was able to work hard on that crop. Amazing!

Besides, remember when machinery was available to do the digging, the topping, and the loading, but it would constantly break down necessitating trips to town - the time of harvest was not a pleasant one for anybody, but was especially trying for Dad
