My suspicion is that I was about 4 and Steve was about 3. I LOVED that crocheted cap/beanie/beautiful hat. And the sailor blouse and pants were another favorite. Maybe that is why I always wanted a "sailor" collar on dresses and blouses as I grew older. The only way I got them was to sew them, but I was able to do just that, thanks to Mother's willingness to let me experiment. Poor cat! It was a good thing Grandpa Wasden had a never-ending supply of new kittens - I suspect we loved them until they couldn't stand it any longer!

Didn't mother give Steve good haircuts? I loved the blue hat on Ann. She could make anything look good.
